Tired of Parties, Politics, and Sex? Visit the Flats!
Session Summary, August 15, 1996
When we last visited our most gracious Tsolyani, Akhan had
recently experienced the beauteous and harmless delights of the
Temple of Dlamelish and vowed to never set foot into the temple
again lest he tarnish his memory of the place with return visits.
Akhan continued in his quest to put together an appropriate team
to search out the missing Qolyemu hiSsanmirin, fellow Hereksa in
The Legion of Ever Present Glory. A clan cousin learned of his
impending trip to the swamps and begged Akhan to allow him to
accompany him on this noble quest.
Ngaya, against her own nature and the nature of her Temple,
kept to herself the news of her own involvement in Akhan's venture.
Mikusa consulted with experts on the proper way to put together
an expedition to a swamp, which is, of course, to not go to a swamp
in the first place, but given that is not an option, she sought out
the proper guides and equipement that would make the experience more
comfortable.
Shekkara expressed doubts at her ability to take off the
required time from her temple duties; Akhan persuaded her with
a steel dagger. Shekkara weighed both the commonality of the
gift against the heartfelt intention with which was given, and
in a moment of sympathy, accepted Akhan's gift in the goodwill
which it was given.
After a week of hard work, they were ready to leave. By prior
agreement, they met some tsan outside of and away from Jakalla's
walls lest they attracted too much attention by leaving together.
Akhan, Ngaya, and Mikusa are treated to the wonderous display of
the Tlakotani entourage that has come to see Shekkara off. Behold!
Over fifty Tlakotani houseguards and slaves escorted her in most
grand style to the outskirts of Jakalla.
Mnektu hi****** arrived shortly thereafter, after having
wisely decided to bring up the rear in order to make sure that
nobody had followed them. Mnektu greeted
with great reverence his fellow Jakallani Sword Technique student,
Shekkara, who he readily recognized as superior with the blade and
The Technique.
Akhan revealed to Shekkara interesting facts about the swamp.
Shekkara revealed to the young Tlakotani head of her guard some
interesting facts about the swamp, who, upon seeing great
opportunities in this venture, volunteered immediately to stay by
Shekkara's side.
Seeing how her escort outshone those of her friends, Shekkara
quickly bid them goodbye, lest her friends feel inadequate. With
great happiness, the party set their eyes and their feet and their
litters down the Sakbe road. La, how sprightly their steps as they
head and toward the the Flats of Tsechelnu! It is plain to all how much
they looked forward to this excursion, this brief vacation from the
sweltering and decadent streets of Jakalla, from the onerous duties
of their legions and temples and clanhouses, from kaitars to be made
from trade, from the parties, from the cool recesses within the
House of the Pleasant Hour.
Qolyemu will be so delighted to learn
what spice and excitement his disappearance has given to his friends'
lives!
