On Arkhane's Religious Beliefs
The aspect of Ksarul that Arkhane serves is "He Who Speaks
Only Truth." This obscure aspect is represented by a stylized black
winged serpent and is considered to be the "trickster" aspect
of Ksarul. The appellation "He Who Speaks Only Truth" is
substituted for his actual name which is never spoken aloud
for fear of drawing the aspect's attention. It is because of
the fear and respect that this aspect is held in, that no one
would ever dare "label" him more directly. This selfsame
fear is the major reason that worship of this aspect is so
rare. Perhaps it is only that real Truth would shatter the
human mind. "He" has his rites and ceremonies which are
scrupulously adhered to, but few dare to favor him personally
for fear of attracting his grace.
Those who are favored by this aspect soon find their lives
confusing maelstroms of extreme fortune both good and bad.
Rare is the individual who is able to maintain a strong sense
of self (or even sanity) in the face of this god's favor.
Arkane has had his worldview shattered at least three times
and his sanity is slowly leaking away to be replaced by a
strange form of strength and joy in adversity. As Arkhane
allows his personality to erode and loosens his grasp on the
things that a healthy ego enjoys, the favor of the god only
seems to increase.
