• Gentleman of the Bedchamber for Charles I. Colonel of Horse.
• Came to America with Charles Ashton incognito following defeat of Royal forces in which they fought during the English Civil War.Fled to Northern Neck of Virginia in 1651, soon after Battle of Worcestor, transported to VA before 1654 by his brother Thomas Fowke.
• Acquired a great deal of land in Westmoreland Co., VA. Was Colonel of Troops there. Report from Westmoreland Co. on theDoeggs.
• Justice, Burgess for Westmoreland County 1663-1665
• Moved to "Gunston Hall" in Charles County, Maryland. He was a member of the Assembly from Charles County in 1666
• Ann was his second wife
• Died in Charles Co., Md where his estate was administered
